What is the Co-operative’s “Perfect Day” competition?
The Perfect Day is a competition involving all the Co-operative retail stores in the west midlands area to take part in to see which store is, in this case, most festive. Alongside judgments on how successfully the store is managed, for example this may include how well the teams are managed, how well the stock is maintained etc.
On Friday 7th of December, all the stores were judged in the first round of Perfect Day, and without further a due… congratulations to Erdington for coming first place in the group! The Erdington store will be progressing to the next round of the competition to be next judged tomorrow (on the 14th of December). The finals will take place the following Friday (on the 21st of December) where the lucky winner of this region will be decided and announced.
Nicky, one of our team members at Think:Digital as a customer advocate and experience adviser, was part of the judging panel for the competition as she could draw from her knowledge as a previous store manager. Plus, researching into the look and feel of stores would tie nicely into a current on-going project of ours, to find out more… stay tuned.
Getting into the festive spirit
During this competition, and as one of the criteria for scoring more points in the Perfect Day competition, each of our stores showcased their own Christmas narrative with the rest of the team. Everyone was dressing themselves up with their elf ears and cute Christmas jumpers armed with their own stories of their festive journeys from the past and the ones ahead. One of the reasons for promoting the Christmas spirit in-store was partially to include the joyous, warm, festive feeling for our customer to enjoy. The other, more prominent, reason was to celebrate all the great achievements of our hard-working colleagues over the year and to show everyone that they are really valuable in the wider society and we are so grateful for your service.
Below this post, I have collated some pictures taken by our lovely photographer Nicky on various stores, showing their Christmas cheer and some rather festive pictures of our happy colleagues for your sheer entertainment. Enjoy!
